One of the most famous passages of the Old Testament references lines that have been drawn by Yahweh and fall in pleasant places (Psalm 16:6). For the religious, these lines are boundaries within which we live, and as long as our beliefs and behavior are correct, we are living a successful “Christian life.” However, from a new covenant perspective, we no longer need lines that create boundaries, but rather lines that connect us by the Spirit to Yahweh and to one another.
...if you don’t know where you are and you’re not sure where you are going, it’s going to be quite difficult to navigate a path between two unknown or undeveloped points. Yahweh didn’t begin until He finished, and that’s why Yahshua had to come to the earth...to make all things NEW.
Yahshua took the time to walk everyone through the different facets and features of John’s ministry so that they could focus on what was coming that was so different than what was being experienced. Paul’s advice in situations like this is to invite the light of Yahweh’s glory to expel the darkness by walking “circumspectly” around an issue until you see what Yahweh sees and execute an accurate response that contributes to the change and transformation coming.
